2018 Crystal Springs PTA Spelling B

4th and 5th Grade: Thursday, February 15, 2018

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade: Friday, February 16, 2018

4:30-5:30 pm, Crystal Springs Gym

This year our school will participate in the Scripts Spelling B.  If your child would like to participate, please help them learn to correctly spell the study words for their grade.  Looking for an additional challenge?  All of the first through eighth grade study words are available here.

All of the words from the 2018 School Spelling Bee Study List can be found in engaging, grade-appropriate books, allowing students to get to know these words in the context of great stories!  The Source Books and word lists are attached.

Students who wish to participate will have an in-class B on February 12th or 13th (depending on teacher preference).  The student will say the word, spell the word, and say the word again: for example, “Snowflakes. S-N-O-W-F-L-A-K-E-S. Snowflakes.”  The top speller from each class will be invited to participate in our Spelling B finals which will take place after school (dates/times listed above).  Prizes will be awarded to the top speller from each grade.

The top 5th grade speller from Crystal Springs will advance to the next round of competition at the Spelling Bee of King and Snohomish County, Champion Ballroom at Seattle University, on March 25, 2018 at 1pm.
